My wife loves Adele.

She is a fantastic singer, I have all her albums.

Yes, her music is brilliant.  Engages both my heart and my mind.

Adele is not somebody I'd picture you going to see, Paul, but hey, why not!  As much as I like hard rock, metal and other loud stuff, I quite like Adele myself... as well as quite a few other female artists with exceptional voices.  I mean, I'd love to go see Toni Childs in concert... not to mention Linda Perry of 4 Non-Blondes and Delores Riordan of the Cranberries... and far too many more to mention here.

Yup, there's some great singers out there and I hope that you and Terry had a great night.

Yeah, you and me both.... she has that special ability to express emotion in her music.

Well....considering that the 2 concerts prior that we went to were Akka Dakka and Gunners...

Yeah, that's what I mean. I pictured you as a hard rock type of bloke with a penchant for loud and plenty of grunt.  I'm a bit that way myself, with a real liking for various kinds of heavy metal, but I also like other genres, like blues and jazz [both modern jazz and from the 30's, roaring 40's] and various types of performer

I don't get out to concerts much these days, but in the 70's I went to see Marcia Hines with my then-to-be 1st wife. Now that was one heck of a show, with all her big hits and more.  I also went to see Charley Pride in the mid 80's, which was also an excellent concert.  I also went to smaller venues to see such artists as Renee Geyer, Carol LLoyd of Railroad Gin [remember them?] and Kate Ceberano.  They may be a bit of a change down from The Rolling Stones; The Who; Cream; Led Zeppelin and Robin Trower [Procol Harum], but equally as enjoyable to see/hear in concert.

My absolute favourite two concerts of all time were when Roy Buchanan came to Brisbane twice in the 80's.  To hear that blues guitar of his wail like a cat and bark like a dog live was something extra special.  He was technically the most awesome guitarist who ever walked on God's Earth, but sadly his life ended prematurely in 1988, and nobody has been remotely able to fill his boots ever since.

One hell of a voice!!!

One hell of a voice!!!

Yup!  Superb in every way.  What's more, she's a really down-to-Earth person who hasn't let fame get in the way of her grass roots personality... unlike some who think their excrement don't stink once they become a so-called star.

One such 'star' is that Bieber twat, who we've just had here in Oz and wish we hadn't.  His behaviour leaves much to be desired, as does his treatment of those people [silly little fans] known as Beliebers.  Sadly, immigration didn't revoke his visa so he could have been shot at the border for terrorising the eardrums of our 'don't-know-any-better teens.

Oh well, there's always another border crossing with armed guards.

Let us hope Adele keeps her center and not get blinded by the glaring lights of fame.

Yes, the glaring lights of fame have ruined some great talents over the years.  Hopefully Adele stays true to herself and keeps belting out her great tunes.

Another singer I really like is Sherrie Austin.  She's an Aussie girl who's making it big on the US Country music scene with a rather unique voice

She is just absolutely amazing performer. I love her voice - she sings live even better than on CD's. Her songs are catchy, soul-touching and unforgettable.

Looks like Adele will pack it in after this tour is finished. Apparently touring is not enjoyable for her.

Yup, good move on her part, family first. She will still be making albums though, which is great!

Quite a few musicians found the rigours of touring too much and stopped to concentrate on family life and return to recording only.  Sadly, it means I will never see Adele in concert, but it's her decision and she's not the only musician I will never get to see live.

As I said before, Adele is a down to Earth and more a homely type of girl, so touring away from home for long periods of time would be difficult for her, one would imagine.
