At last count there are two that are airworthy....the B of B flight one....and one in Canada.
There's a second 'running' in the UK but it's not airworthy and is limited to taxi-ing....
The REAL thing to keep a look out for are those buried Spits in Burma that have come to light. With luck, airworthy spits might be in for a major leap...
You can't do this on a 'commercial flight' ....
That's actually pretty awesome. How'd you get this treat?
Saved up.....it was $495 a head ...all included [apart from grog at the dinner...and any cheese, etc bought] ...
I'll certainly do it again.... before the crate runs out of air-worthy hours....[and me too]....
@Wiz....lol. Karma 4 U
Cool! I am old enough to remember when those were regular (i.e. common) passenger planes. I always looked on them as "at least they can glide in a horizontal direction".
I remember vividly a flight in a commercial DC3 in about 1965, from Louisville to Evansville during a horrendous storm. The wings were literally flapping in the wind, it was dippin & slidin, hittin 'bumps' all over & I was certain I was gonna die.
My first flight in one was in 1954 .... I was about 3 weeks old so don't remember too much [nothing at all, actually]...
There used to be one stuck up on a stick at Tullamarine Airport [like a gate sentry] but it's since been removed and restored to flying...
Waste not want not!
