Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day

You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way

The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older

Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Plus One - "Going Crazy" (I have a tendency to listen to Christian music here and there, alot of it helps me a little so I can get through the day)

"Going Crazy"

Gave my life away now I gotta play

This is what I choose if I don't wanna lose
Then I need to let you make my move

[Channel:]
'Cause you know better than I, than I could ever
And I don't wanna try to ever do without you
You know more than I could, than I could ever
And if you weren't with me
I'd go crazy

[Chorus:]
I can't pretend that I don't need you
With all the stuff in my life I just don't know what to do
Every time I'm afraid of what's in front of me
You keep me from goin' crazy
I think it's done but the tape keeps rolling
Can't push stop cause my life is recording
All this pressure keeps on pressing
You keep me from goin' crazy

Every face I see takes a hold of me
And keeps me where I need to be
But with a lot on my mind
sometimes it makes me blind
And the vision gets hard to find

[Repeat Channel and Chorus]

I thank you for the life I lead
I wouldn't trade it, not for a minute
I don't wanna think that I don't
need You with me
You are my security
Now that I got it I can't go without it
'cause I need you, need you to keep
from going crazy

-Got To Give It Up-

I used to go out to parties
And stand around
'Cause I was too nervous
To really get down
And my body yearned to be free
So I got up on the floor and found
Someone to choose me
No more standin' along the side walls
Now I've got myself together, baby
And I'm havin' a ball
Long as you prove it
There's always a chance
Somebody watches
I'm gonna make romance
With your body, ooo baby, you dance all night
Get down and prove it, feel all right
Keep on dancin'
Got to give it up

-The World I Know-

Has our conscience shown?
Has the sweet breeze blown?
Has all the kindness gone?
Hope still lingers on.
I drink myself of newfound pity
Sitting alone in New York City
And I don't know why.

Are we listening
To hymns of offering?
Have we eyes to see
That love is gathering?
All the words that I've been reading
Have now started the act of bleeding
Into one.

So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself
As the tears roll down.
'Cause it's the world I know.
It's the world I know.

-Closer To Fine-

I'm trying to tell you something about my life
maybe give me insight between black and white
and the best thing you've ever done for me
is to help me take my life less seriously
It's only life after all
yeah
well darkness has a hunger that's insatiable
and lightness has a call that's hard to hear
I wrap my fear around me like a blanket
I sailed my ship of safety till I sank it
I'm crawling on your shores
I went to the doctor, i went to the mountains
I looked to the children, i drank from the fountains
there's more than one answer to these questions
pointing me in a crooked line
and the less i seek my source for some definitive
(the less I seek my source)
the closer i am to fine
the closer i am to fine
and i went to see the doctor of philosophy
with a poster of rasputin and a beard down to his knee
he never did marry or see a b-grade movie
he graded my performance, he said he could see through me
I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind
got my paper and i was free
I went to the doctor, i went to the mountains
I looked to the children, i drank from the fountains
there's more than one answer to these questions
pointing me in a crooked line
the less i seek my source for some definitive
(the less I seek my source)
the closer i am to fine
the closer i am to fine
I stopped by the bar at 3 a.m.
to seek solace in a bottle or possibly a friend
and i woke up with a headache like my head against a board
twice as cloudy as i'd been the night before
and i went in seeking clarity.
I went to the doctor, i went to the mountains
I looked to the children, i drank from the fountains
yeah we go to the doctor, we go to the mountains
we look to the children, we drink from the fountains
yeah we go to the bible, we go through the workout
we read up on revival and we stand up for the lookout
there's more than one answer to these questions
pointing me in a crooked line
the less i seek my source for some definitive
(the less i seek my source)
the closer i am to fine
the closer i am to fine
the closer i am to fine

~Scarlet Begonia~

As I was walkin' 'round Grosvenor Square
Not a chill to the winter but a nip to the air,
From the other direction, she was calling my eye,
It could be an illusion, but I might as well try, might as well try.

She had rings on her fingers and bells on her shoes.
And I knew without askin' she was into the blues.
She wore scarlet begonias tucked into her curls,
I knew right away she was not like other girls, other girls.

In the thick of the evening when the dealing got rough,
She was too pat to open and too cool to bluff.
As I picked up my matches and was closing the door,
I had one of those flashes I'd been there before, been there before.

Well, I ain't always right but I've never been wrong.
Seldom turns out the way it does in a song.
Once in a while you get shown the light
In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Well there ain't nothing wrong with the way she moves,
Scarlet begonias or a touch of the blues.
And there's nothing wrong with the look that's in her eyes,

Wind in the willow's playin' "Tea for Two";
The sky was yellow and the sun was blue,
Strangers stoppin' strangers just to shake their hand,
Everybody's playing in the heart of gold band, heart of gold band.

I enjoyed reading the lyrics Chinacat shared. I got lost in them.

"It ain't my rainbow"

Got a lot on my mind
And my heart ain't fairin' well
Still got heaven to find
Before I bid you farewell...in hell

Got those colors that swing
Baby, those colors that grow
They stretch to your soul
But it ain't my rainbow...

Honey-love don't you cry
Let me dry your weeping eye
I'll lick your salt tears away
Let them stray my way...so that I may...
keep them at bay...

Babygirl, I'm the one
You can come to when you come undone
I'm as fragile as you, ya know
But this ain't my rainbow...

The winds keep calling, ain't it a shame?
They whistle and hell, yeah scream out my name.
And the lights in the sky...
They sure put on a show...
But baby,...you know...

...This ain't my rainbow...
