We're doing alright
a little jiving on a Saturday night
come what may, gonna dance the day away
Jenny was sweet
she always smile for the people she meet
on trouble and strife
she had another way of looking at life
The news is blue
it has its own way to get to you
What can I do?
I'll never remember my time with you
So pick up your feet
got to move to the trick of the beat
there is no elite
just take your place in the driver's seat

To Live Is To Die.....ManOWar....

Anytime Yrgal

Here one of my new favs

When you grow up.. Livin' like a good boy oughta
And your mama .. Takes a shine to her best son
Something different .. All the girls they seem to like you
Cause you're handsome .. Like to talk and a whole lot of fun

But now your girl's gone a missin'
And your house has got an empty bed
The folks'll wonder 'bout the wedding
They won't listen to a word you said

Gonna take your mama out all night
Yeah we'll show her what it's all about
We'll get her jacked up on some cheap champagne
We'll let the good times all roll out
And if the music ain't good, well it's just too bad
We're gonna sing along no matter what
Because the dancers don't mind at the New Orleans
If you tip 'em and they make a cut

Do it
Take your mama out all night
So she'll have no doubt that we're doing oh the best we can
We're gonna do it
Take your mama out all night
You can stay up late 'cause baby you're a full grown man

It's a struggle .. Livin' like a good boy oughta
In the summer .. Watchin' all the girls pass by
When your mama .. Heard the way that you'd been talking
I tried to tell you .. That all she'd wanna do is cry

Now we end up takin' the long way home
Lookin' overdressed wearin' buckets of stale cologne
It's so hard to see streets on a country road
When your glasses in the garbage
And your Continental's just got towed

Gonna take your mama out all night
Yeah we'll show her what it's all about
We'll get her jacked up on some cheap champagne
We'll let the good times all roll out
And if the music ain't good, well it's just too bad
We're gonna sing along no matter what
Because the dancers don't mind at the New Orleans
If you tip 'em and they make a cut

As time goes on...
I realize,
just what you mean
to me..
and now,
now that you're near,
colour my world
that I've waited to share
and dreams, of our moments together.
Colour my world,
with hope,
of loving you.

This one always gets me up Dancing......

Don't you feel it growin', day by day
People gettin' ready for the news
Some are happy, some are sad
Oh, we got to let the music play
What the people need
Is a way to make 'em smile
It ain't so hard to do if you know how
Gotta get a message
Get it on through
Oh, now mama's go'n' to after 'while
Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
All the time

Well I know, you know better
Everything I say
Meet me in the country for a day
We'll be happy
And we'll dance
Oh, we're gonna dance our blues away
And if I'm feelin' good to you
And you're feelin' good to me
There ain't nothin' we can't do or say
Feelin' good, feeling fine
Oh, baby, let the music play

Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
All the time

Like a lazy flowing river
Surrounding castles in the sky
And the crowd is growing bigger
List'nin' for the happy sounds
And I got to let them fly

Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
Oh, oh, listen to the music
All the time

I recently started listening to Loudon Wainwright III, mainly because he struck me as a John Prine type of Singer, or Arlo Guthrie, or Bob Dylan if you will.
For a tase of what Loudon is Like try
http://www.waxy.org/archive/2003/02/12/loudon_w.shtml
The song on this Album that initially caught my attention
I initially thought it was being factual about being Public Domain.
I did some research today and find it is actually being tongue in cheek,
about the whole P2P phoenomena. well my Bad, on interpreting that song.
It still is very good, and the whole album is Great. Titled "So Damned Happy"
Where I went wrong is that Loudon has a Public domain Song protesting President Bush.
That is available somewhere.

I heard His "swimming song" first, which was just great. Then I bought the album "So Damn Happy."

Loudon Wainwright III, "Something for Nothing"

You can pull one of my songs right out of thin air
Go ahead and download me, see if I care
In love, war and cyberspace, everything's fair
And it's okay to steal 'cause it's so nice to share

You're in luck 'cause last night, it happened again
I was feeling creative about twenty to 10
So I sharpened a pencil and I wore down its end
And now soon you'll have something to share with your friends

It took twenty minutes to write down this song
The tune's public domain so I didn't do wrong
I chewed up the pencil and the eraser's all gone
Scratched my head and my balls, but it didn't take long

Songwriting's not so hard, it's well-understood
Anyone can do it and everyone should
I'm sure you could write and sing something as good
With some balls and a pencil, I'm sure that you would

A PC's like a crowbar, it's only a tool
And music flows like water from a big public pool
But I wanna get paid for my work, but I'm a fool
Because trading and sharing's so awesome and cool

I don't mean to be flip, I don't want to be pat
Those Metallica guy are all getting too fat.
Free information, yeah, what's wrong with that?
Something for nothing, that's where it's at

And those moguls run labels and you call them all crooks
Because they crunch the numbers and they cook the books
But I signed that contract and I got my hand shook
Shaking hands with the devil, it's not as bad as it looks

You can pull one of my songs right out of thin air
Bootleg and download me, see if I care
In love, war and cyberspace, everything's fair
And it's okay to steal 'cause it's so nice to share

Also of Note is They Might Be Giants Album "Spine" a very good listen.
"Stalk of wheat" is a very good track and also "Some crazy Bastard wants to Hit me."
And "Thunderbird" This Album seems to be a little more Dark and covers some hard topics, but the tunes are catchy and the rythm is the usual TMBG Pump it up.
