The opinionated ramblings and muses of a weary web victim.

98 Rotten Tomatoes is a good indicator.

It's a heck of a ride from go to whoa....definitely a must-see.

Max has kinda a back-seat role to Charlize Theron's but she's much prettier, anyway.  It's worth it just to see her 'robotic' arm...it'll have you wondering if she cut off one 'for the cause'...

We saw it at the theatre at Highpoint....just a couple of miles from where Max's original Falcon was built at Duhig-Ford's Niddrie garage.  [it has a cameo role].

It's amazing what can be done when your budget is 300 times larger than the original's  ...

I went to see it. Gotta say, Not that impressed. Maybe i am just a curmudgeon but i much preferred the original 2. Forget Mad Max 3 that was crap. But anyway there were some good points about the movie. The scenery was great, The cars and trucks were great. The acting was terrible, Max seems to play a supporting role and it all just seems a bit to desperate to make a point. That's just my opinion but i left the theatre feeling disappointed. Out of 10.... Hmmmm i would give it a 4.5 - 5 max (pardon the pun)

Went and saw it with my son, and I must say I have to agree with Nimbin. Having seen the originals, I was really quite bored.

But the popcorn and cherry icee were great!

I'm a little tired of chase movies with little to no character development. I feel the 2nd avengers fell into this trap too.

That said I did enjoy Mad Max in terms of a Fun popcorn movie.

NO!  Don't tell me what to do!

Have to add my voice to those who were disappointed.  I really love the first two, #2 in particular, and this was not up to snuff.  It wasn't a bad movie by any means, but it wasn't great and it certainly wasn't a proper Mad Max movie.  I'm not saying that because Furiosa stole the show, I'm fine with that, and I thought Theron was great.

But the movie was missing many things that make a proper Mad Max movie, and it was basically just a 2 hour long heavy metal music video with a massive dose of absurdity piled on top.  Still waiting for a proper Mad Max movie...

The original $300,000 Mad Max is one of the most 'copied' movies done...of a post-apocalyptic broken society....often imitated never bettered.

The Hollywoodification [new word] of 2 and 3 were 'unfortunate', particularly when the first was such an iconic 'classic'.

As many of the critics have commented...Fury Road is likely to be a 'new classic' in the series.

It's somewhere between pathetic and unfortunate that the US release of the original was both censored AND dubbed over with American voices.  Quaintly even in Australia the first DVD version available contained both the RIGHT version...and the awful US ver.

If you're wondering what was cut...it was essentially the last scene where Max gives the guy the hacksaw and suggests it will be faster to hack through his leg than the handcuffs....

I grew up in Canada, and we got the uncut undubbed version.

I'm in the US and never knew there was a version without that.

Another sad disappoint  [e digicons]:'([/e]

Pretty much echo the comments above with plus one.  Something just wasn't right.  Now I wish I'd seen more movies this year because this one was left me a little empty inside when leaving the theater.  How could FR make a 98 on RT?

I saw it and I thought it was awesome. I still like The road warrior better, but the action, practical effects, and cinematography on this movie was awesome. Best movie I've seen this year, and it's the first movie I've seen in theaters twice in probably over a decade. Also, I think it holds up well to the old ones. Just to make sure, I watched the opening chase scene from Mad Max on DVD and all of the road warrior on blu-ray before I saw Fury Road the second time.
