Over 4000 files didn't survive the transfer.....so affected people are being mailed with a list of 'dead files' and have a month to re-upload the affected works and retain comments, etc.....before the database is cleaned of still-dead links. Recently Zoomba posted he had just reached 5 years with Stardock...and it got me thinking about when I started fiddling with OS Customizing [originally on sites such as Customize.org  and Litestep.com ...and later skinz.org]. The first 'release' of Litestep I came across was called 'b21' or more accurately 1.0 b21 dated 25 March, 1998 ....though the first I actually messed with was b23 a little time after that....but probably just on 10 years ago. Litestep was thought up by a guy...

For those eager to modify/alter everything they can...here's another tool for fun.... All sorts of 'tools' exist for manipulating your Windows Experience. I can't say I've used this one....[can't even remember which proggy I used to make my own custom cursors that I still always use - was a fair few years ago now]... but it looks like it's worth a 'go' ....

OK, so I started moderating 6.5 years ago ....about time we had a 'regular' update news/thingie on what we 'do' and what we're seeing in the queues.... One section I look at is screensavers.  [I personally never use them....my screen goes blank after ten minutes of disuse....[like my brain], so there's no 'point']. What intrigues me is how one saver can be a simple 'scr' file of half a meg....and look good with it....whilst others are 36 meg installers [exes] and to use the cute Engl...

I'm still getting an odd/interesting selection of 'copyright-issue' walls....simply extracted from submitted [unobstructed] screenshots.  This one [the wall] was a quick crop of the taskbar and icons on the left...leaving an odd size...but a simple non-linked resize [stretch] and I had a quaint 1680x1050 wallpaper.  [even the 'distortion' wasn't an issue....looks like it was already wrong to begin with and now looks more 'right']...
